King Associates appoints Frank Mallon

The Manchester-based engineering design consultancy has hired the chartered engineer to work in its Liverpool office.

The engineering design consultancy said Mallon, who has a 30-year career in the Liverpool and North West markets, will bolster its Liverpool presence.

Stuart Alexander, King Associates' joint senior partner, said: "The sustainability agenda poses great challenges in design terms and it's the bigger, better-resourced advisors who are making progress in what remains a tough market."

Alexander said Mallon will focus on integrating his current business into the extensive network that King Associates currently enjoys.

Mallon added: "We bring a complementary set of networks and expertise that developers, owners and architects will find compelling. We believe there is still plenty of opportunity out there and King Associates will continue their intended growth plan. I'm delighted to be playing a part in their continued success."

Last August, Mallon restructured his consulting engineering business, HfM Consulting, after it had gone into voluntary liquidation and relaunched as Frank Mallon Consulting Engineers.
