Work starts on Wales’ first Hilton Garden Inn
The first Hilton Garden Inn to built in Wales is on course to open next year at Adventure Parc Snowdonia as part of a £16m investment.
Designed by architect Pozzoni, the four-storey hotel features 106 bedrooms alongside the existing lagoon at the park, which opened in 2015.
Contractor HH Smith & Sons has now started work on the scheme, which is due to welcome its first guests in 2020. The hotel was granted permission by Conwy Council in November last year, despite planning officers recommended it for refusal.
Elsewhere on the park, HH Smith is also delivering the Adrenaline Indoors building, an indoor climbing and adventure centre. This includes artificial caving, climbing walls, slides, ninja trail, and a zip line across the lagoon.
Further plans for the park also feature a wellness spa with indoor and outdoor treatment areas, and conference facilities, are also planned.
The investment by the park’s owner, the Ainscough Group, is expected to create an additional 100 jobs, effectively doubling its current workforce. To date, the park has attracted 600,000 visitors and currently employs 140 jobs at peak times.
Graham Dodd, managing director, development, UK & Ireland, Hilton said: “Hilton operates hotels at many of the UK’s leading sporting venues including Wembley Stadium, the Emirates Old Trafford cricket ground and Doncaster Racecourse.
“Adventure Parc Snowdonia is a one-of-a-kind experience and the opening of the Hilton Garden Inn hotel will help elevate the park’s offering and draw more visitors to the area.”
