Victoria station given £30m refurbishment package

Manchester's Victoria train station is being improved with a £30m investment fund package agreed between Network Rail, Manchester City Council, and Greater Manchester Integrated Transport Authority.

The £30m is being divided as the following:

  • £21m from Network Rail
  • £5m from Manchester City Council
  • £4m from Greater Manchester Integrated Transport Authority

The work includes a new ticket office, information booth, toilets, roof, and waiting room.

There will also be some external work being carried out, as well as heritage work. This includes restoration of the glazed canopy at the front to the station.

The investment is part of Network Rail's proposals to invest £530m into the North.
