Vehicle repairer snaps up 27,000 sq ft at Broadway Central
FMG Repair Services has signed a 15-year lease on the stand-alone unit at Chancerygate’s Chadderton industrial park as the developer announces practical completion of the £23m scheme.
The vehicle repair company’s 27,000 sq ft letting is the first at Broadway Central, with a second unit currently under offer.
Broadway Central provides a total of 110,000 sq ft of logistics space across eight units, featuring FMG’s 27,000 sq ft space along with seven smaller units ranging from 7,600 sq ft to 18,200 sq ft.
In terms of sustainability, all properties at the development have achieved a BREEAM Very Good rating. Each unit also benefits from electric vehicle charging bays, as well as 15% roof lights to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and energy costs.
Chancerygate acquired the six-acre site from FO Developments – a joint venture between Oldham Council, Grasscroft Property, and Seddon Developments – in 2021.
Andy Farrer, development manager at Chancerygate, said: “There is a strong demand in the North West for high specification, sustainable urban logistics and industrial accommodation and Broadway Central will help satisfy this demand.
“The scheme’s strategic location near to arterial routes and Manchester city centre means occupiers will be best placed to serve both the locality and the wider North West region.
Triton Construction moved on site last August to build the industrial units, which form part of the wider Broadway Green project.
The larger 121-acre mixed-use project will deliver 700,000 sq ft of employment space and 500 homes on former agricultural land in the Chadderton and Foxdenton areas of Oldham.
Davies Harrison and Avison Young are the agents for Broadway. Naylors Gavin Black acted on behalf of FMG.
