University offers up island site
Avison Young and Williams & Goodwin have been appointed by Bangor University to market 2.5 acres on the island of Ynys Faelog, Gwynedd.
Situated just off the coast at Anglesey at Menai Bridge, the sale includes a private beach, a secluded headland, woods and a private tennis court set among mature trees and landscaped areas.
Included in the sale is a 3,860 sq ft building that has recently been used for education. Ancillary buildings include a single storey boathouse and garage.
The sale is to be carried out by private treaty, and although no guide price is available other sites with water frontage in the area have been sold for £1m-plus.
Ynys Faelog is a small island in the mouth of the Afon Cadnant River, and has pedestrian access via a stone walkway onto the mainland, and vehicular access via a tidal causeway across to the town of Menai Bridge.
The island has just one other occupier, owning a section of land and property on the north western corner of the island.
Avison Young’s Jodie Al-Khafaji said: “This is a once in a lifetime opportunity in the heart of a conservation area. The island offers peace, tranquillity and isolation, yet it’s only a short distance to the towns of Menai Bridge and Beaumaris.”
A garage – for the car dependent who need to drive around their two and a half acre island plot.
