Team a go-go reveal Trafford Youth Village designs
Liverpool-based interiors and fit-out consultancy Team a go-go have been appointed to consult with young people and design and implement the interiors for the £4m Trafford Youth Village: The Fuse Project in Partington, Greater Manchester.
Team a go-go has just released visuals of the interiors following a series of engagement sessions with young people, as well as project staff.
West Trafford Development Company appointed BAM Construction as contractor on the scheme last September to carry out a 44-week building programme.
The project team includes Ellis Williams Architects, Doyle Partnership Structural Engineers, Steven A Hunt Services Consultants and AA Projects as quantity surveyors.
Sam Harry, a designer at Team a go-go, said: "Architects EWA brought us in after we had worked together on a number of schools projects in the region. Their brief to us was "make us smile, and make everyone who comes in the building smile too". We hope we have done this and when the building opens in August we'll be carefully checking out the looks on the faces of the people of Trafford both young and old as they explore the great facilities on offer at The Fuse. We've certainly had fun creating a world class facility that appeals to all."
The two storey leisure building will include:
- Sports hall
- 'Chill out zone'
- Business meeting room
- IT suite
- Music suite
- Photography room
- Theatre
- Art space
- Cafe
The scheme is being funded by the Big Lottery under the Myplace initiative.
Michael Swinson, associate at Ellis Williams Architects, added: "Team a go-go have fully understood the story we are telling in developing witty and exciting interior spaces which will add real value to this innovative project."
