TalkTalk Business stays in Salford to sign at Exchange Quay
Having finalised its demerger from parent company TalkTalk in February, the commercially-focused comms firm will relocate from the nearby Soapworks to around 10,500 sq ft in May.
TalkTalk Business has agreed a seven-year lease on 10,492 sq ft at Building 1 within the Exchange Quay complex, where it will move its 136-strong team.
The wider TalkTalk Group is reducing its footprint at Bankfoot APAM’s Soapworks from 110,000 sq ft to around 36,000 sq ft, a project that has enabled the landlord to pull off a 67,000 sq ft deal with global audio branding agency PHMG earlier this month.
The demerged business said that the move – a short hop that should mean little disruption to staff travel habits – marks a significant step in establishing its independent brand and operational footprint.
The ground floor space at Exchange Quay will provide a modern working environment tailored to support hybrid working. The office features multiple Teams-enabled meeting rooms, flexible collaboration areas and a dedicated demo suite showcasing Cisco Meraki technology.
Les Lang, director at Till AM, investment manager for Exchange Quay, said: “This letting highlights the continued appeal of the campus to forward-thinking occupiers seeking high-quality, flexible workspace in a well-connected location.
“Exchange Quay offers an exceptional amenity-led environment for businesses to grow, collaborate and attract talent and we look forward to supporting TalkTalk Business as they establish their new base here.”
Ruth Kennedy, chief executive of TalkTalk Business, added: “Our move to Exchange Quay represents an important milestone following our transition to an independent business. Remaining in the area was important to us, and Exchange Quay offers the ideal combination of connectivity, amenities, green space and flexibility.
“The new office will not only support our hybrid working model, but also provide an enhanced environment to collaborate internally and showcase our technology to customers.”
Joint agents for Exchange Quay are Canning O’Neill and Colliers.
