Steven A Hunt enacts succession plan

The Speke-based M&E firm has appointed Neil Baines as managing director, with the eponymous founder handing over the day-to-day running of the business and moving up to the role of chief executive.

Steven A Hunt & Associates’ leadership change comes as part of a succession plan “ensuring a seamless handover and business as usual”, the company said.

Steve Hunt, who founded the firm in 1989 at the age of 24, said the company is in “good hands” going forward as he takes a step back.

“Neil is a strong leader with real strategic vision, and, alongside the board of directors, I am excited to see where they take the company next,” he said.

“Of course, I will be on hand in my new role as CEO to offer support and guidance where needed.”

Baines’ promotion to managing director is the culmination of 25 years at Steven A Hunt and marks a new chapter for the business.

“Steven Hunt Associates has an incredible legacy in the mechanical and electrical engineering sector that I intend to build upon,” he said.

“Having been at the company since 1999, I am looking forward to leading the business with my fellow directors into an exciting new era while ensuring standards remain high as our clients have come to expect over the years. As a team, we pledge to take the business to the next level and I am proud to drive this future growth.”

Baines will be supported by fellow directors Dave Kelly, Anne King, and Dominic Sibbring in expanding Steven Hunt’s client portfolio.

The company’s projects include the recently completed Novotel at Paddington Village in Liverpool.
