Renaissance recruits senior engineer

Mark Saville has joined the Nothern-Quarter-based structural and civil engineering firm.

He joins after a six-year stint at fellow Manchester-based firm DYSE Structural Engineers.

His brief will be to support the increased demand for structural and civil engineering consultancy services from Renaissance Associates, specifically in the heritage sector.

Saville graduated from the University of Salford with a First Class Masters in 2015 before going on to consult on several projects, developing a flair for heritage assets.

His work includes the design of several pedestrian bridges across the UK, numerous Blue Light developments within Derbyshire, and adaptative reuse projects as well as a project as the conversion of an unoccupied and prominent Manchester building into a mixed-use development.

Saville said: “Culturally significant buildings are where my passion lies and therefore renaissance is the perfect place to develop and build my skillset and stretch my experience.”

Helen Gribbon, director at Renaissance, added: “Mark’s affinity for heritage assets is refreshing and it’s something we want to work closely with him to develop.

“He will be working closely with Terry Moran, who leads our heritage team and is mentored by Kevin Gilsenan, who is one of only three conservation-accredited registered engineers operating in Manchester and we’re looking forward to integrating Mark across our wide-reaching project portfolio.”

Renaissance Associates employs more than 35 people and consults on a wide range of heritage projects across the UK, including Viadux, Ashton Old Baths, The Press, and Old Saint Chads.
