Rachel Bishop joins BDP
The Manchester-based architect and engineering firm has hired the former TP Bennett and Sheppard Robson designer to head up its five-strong interior design team.
Bishop joins BDP as associate interior designer, after almost five years working as a senior interior designer and project director at TP Bennett.
She started her career at London-based Foster & Partners before moving north to Sheppard Robson’s Manchester office where she worked as an interior designer for nearly four years.
After a stint in Australia working for Sydney-based architect Crone Partners, Bishop joined TP Bennett where she worked on projects including the delivery of major office schemes for CBRE, law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and property developer Bruntwood.
Her work for CBRE earned her an award for best interior design project valued at over £1m at the 2018 Northern Design Awards.
BDP is working on a number of major schemes across the North West, including the design of Eversheds Sutherland’s new premises at Two New Bailey Square in Manchester city centre.
Mark Simpson, BDP’s chairman of design and head of workplace, said: “Rachel’s appointment is very much a strategic hire for us – we had been wanting to strengthen our capability for some time and wanted to make the right appointment. We are sure we have done that.”
