Plans in for Charlestown housing

Keepmoat has submitted a planning application to Salford City Council for the construction of 430 homes on an 18-acre stalled site in Charlestown Riverside.

Keepmoat was appointed by the council as preferred development partner in March to deliver the scheme, which was previously to have been developed by Miller Homes and ID4Living under a New Deal for Communities programme. However, the agreement ended in 2013.

Turley is the planning advisor for the application, while MCK Associates is the architect.

The application seeks overall outline approval for 430 homes, along with 8.5-acres of open space, infrastructure and public realm.

Detailed consent is also sought for the first two phases of development, which will total 267 homes at Littleton Road.
