Plans in for 41 Pendle homes

Property management and development company Jan Capital is seeking outline permission to build a five-storey apartment block, accessed off Bankhouse Lane in Nelson.

Code L6 Architecture designed the scheme, which would see the 10,500 sq ft store on the site demolished to make way for the development.

The building, formerly Maria’s Cash & Carry, is now vacant and has fallen into disrepair.

Jan Capital’s plans for the site include 41 apartments, featuring 25 one- and 16 two-bedroom homes.

The flats would range from 400 sq ft to 800 sq ft.

Residents would be provided with 26 car parking spaces, including two disabled. There would also be provision for 10 motorcycles and 42 bikes.

Roger Lee Planning is the scheme’s planning consultant. Dunster Consulting is the civil and structural engineer.
