Peel adds to Media City UK portfolio

The Peel Group has acquired the 58,000 sq ft Alexandra office building to form part of Media City UK from Quinn-Direct UK Properties for an undisclosed sum.

The property is opposite Harbour City Metrolink station on the approach to the first phase of Media City UK in Salford Quays. The second phase is planned for land neighbouring the same Metrolink stop. In August 2012, Peel acquired the nearby Lowry Outlet Mall from Emerson.

There is currently just one vacant floor of 11,500 sq ft at Alexandra which has the capability of division into four separate suites accessed from the central core.

Liza Marco, property asset manager at Peel, said: "The Alexandra is a striking office building providing a full height glazed atrium and flexible floor plates. Its location offers occupiers excellent transport links and stunning views overlooking the dock basin. The Alexandra now forms part of Peel's 2m sq ft Media City UK portfolio which enables us to offer occupiers a whole variety of space for all budgets.

Craig Barton, investment director at DTZ, advised Quinn. CBRE senior director Colin Thomasson provided acquisition advice to Peel.
