Walker Sime hires director from WSP

Mark Bond has joined Walker Sime to head up its quantity surveying infrastructure team, taking over from Peter Valkenburg, who will retire from the business in March.

Bond has joined from WSP’s Manchester office and took up his new role on 7 January. At WSP, Bond was commercial director and business growth director, working in the consultant’s major project services business.

He has more than 25 years’ experience in the sector having helped to deliver projects in the UK, the Middle East, and Asia. Previous roles include director of dispute resolution at Sweett Group and as regional operations director for Middle East and North Africa at Driver Group, where he worked on Doha’s international airport in Qatar.

In his new role with Walker Sime, Bond will focus on project delivery, time, cost, and dispute resolution.

Bond said: “I am very pleased to be joining Walker Sime and feel that the company is able to offer the high quality, personal and managed service to clients that so many of the larger consultancies seem to neglect. This should give us a unique and strong advantage over our competitors.”

Des Walker of Walker Sime added: “We are delighted to welcome Mark on board. He is a fantastic addition to our senior team and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience. With Mark’s skill and enthusiasm, we anticipate taking our quantity surveying infrastructure services to new heights.”
