Vivark adds to management team
New facilities management company Vivark has appointed two managers to help establish the firm.
Jo Whittingham and Kelly McConville develop the company's services to customers in a range of sectors across the North West.
Vivark in Merseyside is the newly launched commercial arm of First Ark Group, which also includes Knowsley Housing Trust, providing repairs, maintenance and facilities management services.
The company operates as a social enterprise committed to using its profits to benefit the communities it works in through the creation of employment and training opportunities.
McConville joined the group one year ago and becomes head of commercial services for maintenance with Vivark. Her successes include achieving buy-in from the workforce in implementing a flexible working policy across the business which has reduced the need to sub-contract work. She has also overseen the mobilisation of internal growth and is responsible for business development.
She said: "I feel privileged to be part of this new enterprise and look forward to embarking on a new journey of growing the business to reinvest back into the communities adding social value to the borough of Knowsley."
Whittingham will handle contracts worth up to £2m. She has worked within the group for five years in a range of roles from customer access advisor to repairs officer and planner team leader managing trade operatives' daily workloads.
She said: "It's a fast-paced and exciting industry to work in. It's still seen as a very male dominated industry but there is plenty of room for women to succeed."
