Vinci / Sir Robert McAlpine land Royal work

IHP, a Joint Venture between Vinci Construction UK and Sir Robert McAlpine, has been awarded two contracts by the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust.

The first contract, which begins in early June, will see the reconfiguration of the existing observation ward and the design and refurbishment of the existing resuscitation area within the Emergency department. This contract will be completed in October 2012.

In August, the contractor will start the second contract which will be completed in February 2013. The work includes an extension to the Emergency department which will accommodate 18 beds.

Mark Thomas, regional director of Vinci Construction UK building division North, said: "We are extremely pleased to have been awarded two contracts with the Royal Liverpool University Hospital, and we look forward to working alongside the Trust to successfully complete these projects."

Keith McGreavy, deputy director of estates and redevelopment at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital, said: "We are delighted to continue our working relationship with IHP on the latest projects to be undertaken through the ProCure 21+ framework and we look forward to completing these developments successfully."

The architects are Nightingale Associates.
