New animation takes viewers inside the development’s CGI renderings, showcasing what it will be like to walk through the cultural and leisure destination once complete.

Phase one is still under construction at the £45m development being built by VINCI Construction UK for Cheshire West & Chester Council. The steel frame for the market and six-screen cinema building is now complete. The roof is nearing completion for the extension of the Hunter’s Walk building. VINCI has also completed the stair and lift concrete cores to the multi-storey car park. Progress is being made on the car park’s steel frame and the flooring of the first few storeys.

The first part of the Chester Northgate scheme is set to open in early 2022. Northgate will have an indoor market hall, arcade, cinema, co-working office spaces, public square, cafes and restaurants. It is the largest development in Chester for more than 40 years. See more at chesternorthgate.com.

Looking great. So pleased they kept the original frontage of such a beautiful historic building unlike The Forum disaster. I heard jumping water fountains were also planned in front of the town hall. This would be a great feature if it’s planned.
