Supermarket plans for former car sales site

A planning application has been submitted for a 12,500 sq ft speculative supermarket development on the site of a former car dealership near Lancaster city centre.

No occupier has yet been identified for the proposed supermarket in Scotforth Road.

The application has been submitted to Lancaster City Council on behalf of the owner of the former dealership by The Planning Consultancy, Cheshire.

The site is known locally as The Old Filter House.

The Old Filter House is part of a broader regeneration area identified by Lancaster City Council.
