St Modwen picks Cheetham & Mortimer for Deeside centre

Manchester-based retail agent, Cheetham & Mortimer, has been appointed as sole agent at St Modwen's £13m redevelopment of Deeside District Centre in Connah's Quay, Flintshire.

St Modwen has submitted a detailed planning application for the project, anchored by a 52,000 sq ft Morrisons foodstore. Cheetham & Mortimer will market an additional 20,000 sq ft of complementary retail units.

Pending planning consent, St Modwen aims to start on site this year with retailers open for trade during summer 2009.

Steve Perrett, partner at Cheetham & Mortimer, said: "St Modwen has worked closely with Flintshire council to ensure the regeneration scheme will successfully revive the existing tired shopping centre whilst also accommodating Morrisons' specific requirements. We look forward to bringing a strong line of additional retailers to the development."
