St Modwen and Barratt join recruitment wave

Increased activity in the market is prompting developers to strengthen their in-house teams; among the latest moves are David Nuttall leaving Knight Frank for St Modwen Properties and Sam Stafford joining Barratt Developments from GVA.

Nuttall spent four years at Knight Frank, latterly as senior investment surveyor alongside partner Steve Carrick. Nuttall previously spent five years at Bury-based agents Nolan Redshaw.

At St Modwen, Nuttall will work on a mixture of existing and new projects. St Modwen's regional office is in Birchwood, Warrington.

Stafford last month joined Barratt Developments as strategic land director, part of the team acquiring new sites and achieving planning consents. Stafford will be based mainly at Barratt's Old Trafford office. He previously worked at Himor, Savills and Drivers Jonas.

  • St Modwen has promoted Stephen Knowles from development director to regional director for the North West after Stephen Prosser took over the Midlands patch following the retirement of John Dodds. St Modwen's Northern region will now be split into two offices. The Yorkshire & North East region will be headed up by Richard Bannister. Previously Prosser oversaw both.
