Splash picks agents for Stubbs Mill

Urban Splash has appointed property agents Bilfinger GVA and Edwards & Co to market its Stubbs Mill development in Manchester.

The new office scheme, which will be ready for occupancy from early 2016, is situated within New Islington where Urban Splash has already created apartments, a park, a marina, workspaces and the soon to be launched 'hoUSe' family housing scheme.

The developer is expecting a flurry of interest occupiers looking for spaces from 2,500 to 22,500 sq ft, especially those in the creative industries.

Paul Jones, commercial manager at Splash, said: "New Islington is undergoing a rapid transformation which most recently benefited from the addition of Metrolink – the stop for which is close to Stubbs' front door. It is the perfect base for businesses who are perhaps considering the Northern Quarter and who want a raw office feel in a historic building but with superfast broadband and great facilities."

The building, a former machine works with retained features, comprises units from 2,500 sq ft over three floors up to a total of 22,500 sq ft. Each unit boasts a series of 2.4 metre high original windows.

David Thwaites, associate director at Bilfinger GVA, said: "The Manchester market is moving again commercially and it's great to be involved in this much anticipated Urban Splash new commercial scheme."

The conversion of Stubbs Mill was designed by Manchester-based SixTwo Architects, and began on site in March 2015.
