Space Northwest, the joint venture between Ashtenne and the North West Development Agency, has appointed GVA Grimley's office team to act as joint agents on two major sites off Edge Lane, Liverpool.
GVA Grimley will work alongside Space Northwest's own in-house agents on Liverpool Innovation Park, comprising 350,000 sq ft on the former Marconi site, and 240,000 sq ft of planned new-build on the adjoining former Merseytravel site fronting Edge Lane. No date has been given for the start on site of the new buildings.
Edge Lane is currently undergoing an extensive upgrade programme managed by Liverpool Land Development Company including highways and environmental work.
Ashtenne, Warner Estate Holding's industrial subsidiary, won the contest to form the PPP with the NWDA in autumn 2006. The JV manages 42 commercial assets with a total value of £140m and ranging from office buildings to large industrial estates.
Meanwhile, GVA's Liverpool-based Robin Ellis has been headhunted by GVA client Downing and is to be replaced by Robin Evans who joins the company from CBRE on 5 November. The Liverpool team of GVA has also been strengthened with the recruitment of graduate Joe Bridger.
