Seddon lands £5m Bloor office job

Bloor Homes has appointed Seddon to lead on the construction of its new regional head office building in Holmes Chapel.

The housebuilder intends to move into its base early in 2020. The office is to be located next to Bloor’s Bluebell Green development, in a commercial scheme comprising a main 21,500 sq ft building and two buildings available for lease of around 10,760 sq ft each.

Bloor Homes’ North West business has grown by 23% over the course of two years, the company said. Bloor’s office is currently half a mile from the site, near Holmes Chapel station.

Rhys Nicholson, regional managing director for Bloor Homes, said: “We’re extremely proud of our Cheshire roots and did not want to move out of the Holmes Chapel area. This location is absolutely perfect as it’s only minutes from junction 18 of the M6, and allows us to create a brand new space where we can continue to grow.

“We were impressed by Seddon’s reputation and felt there was a real understanding of our vision – for example, we knew we wanted our new building to fit in with its rural surroundings and the team at Seddon worked with us to deliver viable solutions. We’re looking forward to seeing the finished product and moving our team in.”

The two-storey head office’s build is due for completion in November. It will include six meeting rooms, a training suite and more than 9,700 sq ft of open-plan office space, and have 150 car parking spaces. The scheme will be known as Campion Park.

Ed Wootton, regional director at Seddon, said: “We’re thrilled to be working with Bloor Homes on this project and have worked hard to ensure that the building complements the surroundings, through the use of timber cladding, pitched roof and brickwork in keeping with local area.

“We know the company is going from strength to strength and we’re pleased to be part of its growth as it continues to build on its success and looks forward to a new chapter.”
