Second P resigns from P3

Phil Meakin, one of the founding partners who gave his name to P3 Property Consultants, has resigned to join Orbit Developments weeks after Peter Gallagher said he was going to Colliers International.

The business was founded by Gallagher, Meakin and Paul Daye in 2008 following their exit from the ill-fated Erinaceous.

Meakin and Gallagher specialise in office agency. Daye, an industrial specialist, will turn P3 into a niche practice with fellow industrial agent Rob Tilley.

Paul Daye said: "Peter, Phil and I will go forward as friends; we shook hands on this, there is no bad blood. Industrial has gone from strength to strength in recent years and we are encouraged about the future. We will focus on agency and development in the industrial market."

The practice is based off King Street, Manchester and will continue to trade under the P3 brand.

Daye said he planned to hire a third surveyor later this year and wanted to expand into investment advice.

Daye is advising online retailer Hut Group on a 650,000 sq ft acquisition and continues to act on Kingsway in Rochdale where P3 has secured several large inward investments.

Meakin will join Orbit at the end of this month. The Alderley Edge-based landlord owns 200 office buildings, containing 6.5m sq ft, in the UK, focused in the North West and South East.

Orbit declined to comment. Meakin was unavailable.
