Professional Liverpool moves in with chamber

Professional Liverpool is to share office space with Liverpool Chamber of Commerce at 1 Old Hall Street in the city centre.

The member organisation promotes professional excellence in Liverpool and the surrounding area. Professional Liverpool will relocate from the Foresight Centre, part of Liverpool University's estate off London Road.

Jim Gill, chairman of Professional Liverpool and former chief executive of Liverpool Vision, said: "There is much common ground between the two organisations so it makes sense to share premises and our knowledge and expertise. There will be many opportunities for the chamber and ourselves to develop new initiatives for the benefit of the city and our members.

"It is also logical for Professional Liverpool to be located in the heart of the city's business and commercial district as it is where the majority of our members are.

"We are grateful to the chamber for welcoming us to 1 Old Hall Street, and must also thank the University of Liverpool for their support while we were located at the Foresight Centre.

"We look forward to continued close collaboration with the university."

Neil Scales, chief executive of Merseytravel and chairman of Liverpool Chamber, said: "Finance and professional services are at the heart of the Liverpool business community and it makes perfect sense for us to work closely with Professional Liverpool.

"In this turbulent business environment it is vital that organisations share information, exploit expertise and co-operate for the benefit of the city.

"Both organisations will work closely together to develop business, promote the city and protect the economic health of the region."
