Princess Road flats set for 2019 completion

Galliford Try is to start construction on a £14.2m apartment scheme on Princess Road in Manchester in early 2018, after receiving the go-ahead from the city council.

The development will see the creation of 105 two-bedroom apartments, as well as a landscaped roof terrace for residents on its fourth floor, designed by Northern Quarter-based architect IDP.

The red brick building will step in height along Princess Road, to a maximum of six storeys.

Completion is being targeted for summer 2019.

Brendan Blythe, managing director at Galliford Try Partnerships North West, said: “Whilst still respecting the local character of the neighbourhood, this scheme will bring exciting, modern architecture to the area.

“With its location on such a prominent route, these apartments afford excellent transport links and amenities. I’ve no doubt that they’ll be a popular choice for professionals and families looking for city living. I’m looking forward to seeing the scheme progress.”
