Panflora resi scheme to advance

Plans to build a small collection of homes on the site of the former garden centre in Warburton have been approved by Trafford Council.

Developer Edgefold Homes submitted an application last May to build nine family homes on the vacant brownfield site that once housed the Panflora Nurseries on Barns Lane.

Under the initial plans, drawn up by Manchester-based consultancy P4 Planning, the 1.2-acre plot would have housed nine homes, replacing existing workshop and storage structures that currently occupy the site.

However, Edgefold has since reduced the scale of the scheme to just seven homes, and secured consent. The plot is located within an area of Green Belt, and P4 set out a case to the council that the scheme would have no greater impact on the openness of the Green Belt than the existing buildings, which have been vacant for the past two years.

Bowker Sadler Architects designed the scheme.
