New regional director for Sisk

Nick Summerfield has been appointed to oversee the construction group’s activities in the North West, joining from Balfour Beatty where he was project director.

John Sisk & Son has seen significant growth in its Northern project portfolio in recent years, especially across its construction and civil engineering business, the company said in a statement. Contacts include the Circle Square mixed-use scheme in Manchester, the M62 Rochdale link, York Central Station, the Isle of Man Ferry Terminal, and the LPTIP (Leeds Public Transport Investment Programme).

Summerfield has more than three decades’ experience in the industry, working to deliver construction projects in the commercial, residential, industrial, defence and education sectors. Among the high-profile schemes he has been involved in are Trafford Town Hall, MediaCityUK in Salford, and Liverpool’s Commercial District.

Prior to joining Balfour Beatty last April, Summerfield held construction and project director roles at Bouygues UK and Wates Group and was a contracts manager at Shepherd Construction before that.

In his new role at Sisk, Summerfield will oversee the delivery of Sisk’s projects across Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds.
