MEPC considers shed options

MEPC Birchwood Park is drafting plans to capitalise on the strong market for large warehouses in the region with a 300,000 sq ft shed development.

The plans are currently being drawn up and an application is expected to be submitted to Warrington Council before the end of this year.

Birchwood Park, close to the M6 and M62, is better known as an office centre although there are industrial premises at the park including in Cavendish Place and Lovell House.

Take-up activity in the industrial sector has outperformed offices in the downturn underlined by the internet retail boom and manufacturing occupiers seeking to exploit the buyers' market to move to more modern space.
