Restaurant concept Mamasan has signed to occupy almost 7,000 sq ft at the retail complex, the brand’s second opening after Glasgow last year.
Liverpool One’s asset manager Grosvenor let 6,875 sq ft to Mamasan, which will provide its premium dining, drinks and music offer, including south-east Asian-inspired cuisine and cocktails, at the city centre destination.
Founded by Brad Stevens, the creator of other culinary concepts including Bar Soba and Pizza Punks Mamasan launched its first site in Glasgow last year, and is embarking on an expansion in the UK.
Its Liverpool One restaurant, due to be unveiled once national lockdown restrictions are eased, will see a refitting of the existing unit into a upmarket brasserie-style setting designed to accommodate up to 200 covers.
The space features a mezzanine floor and roof terrace to provide outdoor and indoor dining and bar capabilities.
Stevens said: “With established names such as Bar Soba and Pizza Punks under my belt, I am now looking forward to turning my attention to expanding the Mamasan concept.
“The gap in the market for this kind of experiential dining in Liverpool, combined with the discovery of this attractive and versatile space at Liverpool One, made this an opportunity too good to pass up.”
Alison Clegg, managing director of asset management at Grosvenor Britain & Ireland, added: “We know Liverpool One’s consumers want a higher-end, multidimensional dining offer, where they can enjoy a range of experiences that cannot be found elsewhere.
“The signing of Mamasan fits the bill and also demonstrates that, despite the challenging circumstances for the sector, Grosvenor is able to attract and support growing operators.”
Agents Metis and Savills acted for Liverpool One in the letting. Pudney Shuttleworth represented Mamasan.
The Mamasan letting comes after restaurants Gourmet Burger Kitchen and recommitted to Liverpool One following administration periods.
It also follows a series of other ‘experiential’ lettings at the retail complex, including that of golf simulation concept On The Green last month, and an exclusive drinks pop-up on Peter’s Lane, in partnership with hospitality operator The Bitter Twisted Drinks Company.
