Lamont’s Cheshire industrial deals topped 1m sq ft in 2008

Nantwich-based agency Lamont Commercial completed industrial transactions totalling 1.1m sq ft in Cheshire last year.

The tally beats the 665,000 sq ft of 2007, when Lamonts led the Cheshire County Council league table for industrial agents.

Highlights of 2008 were the letting of 150,000 sq ft to Linpac Material Handling in Winsford, the acquisition of 250,000 sq ft of space for LaSalle Investment Managers and the letting of 55,000 sq ft to Boughey Distribution Unit in Tarporley.

Matthew Pochin, director of Lamonts, said "Completing over 1.1m sq ft of transactions in industrial premises in a year which was very much tarnished by the grip of the credit crunch was a very satisfying achievement. We also managed to beat our 2007 numbers with ease. For obvious reasons we are a little more pessimistic about bettering the achievement in 2009. However, we will be continuing to work hard for all our clients."
