Kier, Aedas win Metrolink job

Kier Construction and Aedas Architects have won the £5m contract to build the new bus station and tram stop in Wythenshawe following procurement via the North West Construction Hub.

TfGM WythenshaweThe new interchange will be located off Poundswick Lane next to Wythenshawe Forum, and is being commissioned by Transport for Greater Manchester.

The Interchange site has been previously occupied by Metrolink as part of the Airport Line expansion, due for completion in 2016.

Metrolink has vacated the compound and Kier Construction will now begin a short period of mobilisation. Survey and testing work will begin on site next month with construction expected to begin in early June.
