Housing association buys Hulme office

Housing association One Manchester has bought the 27,000 sq ft Lovell House at Birley Fields in Hulme from Ropetune for an undisclosed sum.

Located at Manchester’s southern gateway, the building sits next to Turing House, within which One Manchester currently occupies 25,000 sq ft which it plans to vacate.

Built in the early 90s, Lovell House was originally occupied by Michelin Tyres.

The office is currently vacant apart from the top floor which is let to Melbourne Server Hosting.

One Manchester was established in 2015 following a merger between Eastlands Homes and City South Manchester Housing Trust.

Canning O’Neill and GJK Consultants advised One Manchester.

Edwards & Co and Cushman & Wakefield advised Ropetune.

Mark Canning, director at Canning O’Neill, said: “2016 marked a busy year for housing associations. Last spring, we advised National Housing Federation on its relocation from Old Trafford to Lancaster Buildings in the city. We are also currently advising Arcon Housing Association on its office property strategy for 2017.”
