Hana takes 32,000 sq ft at Landmark

CBRE’s flexible workspace arm will occupy three floors at Barings Real Estate’s 180,000 sq ft office block in central Manchester, as its second location in the city.

Hana, which launched in the UK in 2019, has signed a 10-year management agreement on the ground, first and second floors of the 14-storey building in St Peter’s Square, which completed in 2019.

The workspace provider intends to fit out the space to provide private office suites, conference facilities and a coffee bar on the ground floor, and hopes to open to occupiers in the middle of this year.

Hana already has a presence in Manchester, after agreeing to occupy 26,000 sq ft within Fore Partnership’s Windmill Green last March.

At the time, a spokesperson for Hana told Place North West that the firm was “bullish” about the prospect of future demand for flexible workspace, despite uncertainty surrounding the office market amid the pandemic and an enforced rise in homeworking.

Ian Mayhew, managing director at asset manager Barings, said:We recognise that flexible working is effective at every level of a business from individuals to multinational corporations and in partnership with Hana we look forward to providing this service within Landmark.”

Paul Nellist, managing director at Hana, added: “This is another great example of how Hana partners with forward-thinking landlords to manage their flexible space. Additionally, we continue to see strong demand in Manchester from occupiers to add greater flexibility to their real estate portfolios.”

CBRE and Colliers International are the leasing agents for Landmark.

Last year, consultancy JLL relocated to Landmark, moving 170 staff from One Piccadilly to 14,000 sq ft on the tenth floor of the building.
