Muller unveils 130-home ambition for Tattenhall
Consultation has begun for the property developer’s plans to build a neighbourhood with 39 affordable houses on 17.7 acres within the Cheshire village.
Muller Property Group will take feedback from now until 12 October on its outline proposals, with call for 130 homes to be built on land north of Chester Road in Tattenhall. The houses will range from having between one and five bedrooms. They have designed with first-time buyers, families, downsizers, and older residents in mind, according to the consultation website.
Also part of the plans: two children’s play areas, the transformation of Keys Brook into a green ecological corridor with riverside walks and a bridge crossing.
Access to the neighbourhood would be from Chester Road. The development would be within walking distance of the village centre.
Muller hopes to submit a planning app by end of the year to Cheshire West and Chester Council.
Muller’s plans are one of several being put forward to deliver housing in Tattenhall, which sits less than 10 miles south of Chester. Other live applications include Gladman Developments’ pitch for 110 homes off Greenlands, Taylor Wimpey’s application for 120 homes (a reworking of the housebuilder’s 110-home application refused in July), and Bolesworth Estate’s plan for 400 homes off Frog Lane. The Taylor Wimpey and Gladman applications pertain to sites close to Muller’s plot.
Michael Lovatt, area land director for Muller, said: “Tattenhall is already being considered as an important location for future housing growth. With adjoining and nearby land subject to separate planning applications, it is important that proposals for this part of the village are considered within their wider context.”
He added later: “Our aim is to create more than a standalone housing development. We want to deliver a well-connected, landscape-led neighbourhood that responds sensitively to Keys Brook, existing trees and hedgerows and Tattenhall’s distinctive village character.
“These plans are still at an early stage, and we would encourage local residents to review the proposals and share their views. The feedback we receive will be carefully considered as the plans develop.”

Baldwin Design is the architect behind the proposals, working with Heaton Planning on the project for Muller. The project team also includes SV Surveying, Switch Ecology, Geo Risk, Betts Hydro, Focus Transport, and GHC Archeology and Heritage.
Berrys is the agricultural land quality assessor and TPM Carl Taylor is the landscape architect. Cass Allen is the consultant for noise and air quality, while Steve Shields is the arboriculturalist.
