Morgan-Hyland goes it alone

Planning consultant Stephen Morgan-Hyland has left Maddox after five years, including one as managing director, to establish his own practice, called Sevo – standing for sustainable evolution – based in Manchester.

Morgan-Hyland joined Maddox in January 2019 as planning director and was promoted to managing director four years later.

New business, Sevo, will trade from office space at Withington Works. Morgan-Hyland said he was “committed to an agenda of delivering change and growth embedded within the principles of progressive placemaking.”

His target sectors include “commercial developers, housebuilders, investors, landowners, infrastructure providers, transport operators and public bodies.”

In his 25-year career Morgan-Hyland has been a director of Lichfields and Savills. Morgan-Hyland commented: “Progress in the built environment is about improving enjoyment of life. Making things better is the crux, whether that is access to a good home or creating better places to work and enjoy life. That is, together with protecting what we value about our existing built and natural environments. Sustainable evolution sits at the heart of progressive placemaking.”

Morgan-Hyland added: “The North West property sector is jam packed with brilliant individuals who come together in good moments to help drive the region forward. My professional journey has led me to work with some of the best. I am fortunate to be part of a progressive movement, and Sevo will play its part in planning for all our futures.”
