Metier seeks Murphy replacement after Oz exit
Cheshire-based investor-developer, Métier, is searching for a new development director after Aidan Murphy announced his departure from the company to emigrate to Australia.
Graham Richardson, chief executive of Métier Group comments: "We have worked with Aidan over the last eight years and he is a core member of the team. He will be sadly missed, but we wish him and his young family every success in their new life in Australia.
"Aidan's amicable departure creates an unrivalled opportunity for an established and ambitious developer, looking to help further our continued expansion and push forward our commercial and mixed-use projects across the UK. Despite the current market conditions we are still very active, having recently committed £100m towards a new venture operating in the hotel and leisure sector. This position would certainly appeal to those looking to get out of the so-called 'rat race' and become a fundamental part of our team."
Métier's schemes include developing a £12.5m office scheme in Skelmersdale, a £24m leisure and residential development, known as Tyne Square in the Ouesburn Valley, Newcastle and a land holding in the Quayside area, which is earmarked for a 150-bed hotel and a student accommodation scheme with around 700 units.
