M&E contract awarded at new Blackpool hospital
NG Bailey's engineering division has been awarded a £9.9m contract by Integrated Health Projects to deliver mechanical and electrical, public health and information management and technology services to The Harbour, the new inpatients unit in Blackpool.
Integrated Health Projects is a joint venture between Vinci Construction UK and Sir Robert McAlpine.
The £40m Harbour development will become operational in early 2015 and is part of the Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust modernisation programme.
Ryhurst is managing the development for the trust. The Harbour is being built on land at Wyndyke Farm, off the M55. The development will have 154 beds including a psychiatric intensive care unit. The new facility will replace facilities at Parkwood, Blackpool Victoria Hospital, and at Lytham Hospital and Fleetwood Hospital.
NG Bailey is due to start work on site in November.
