Lovell appoints head of operations
John Roach has been promoted to the leadership role after 15 years at the company.
Roach joined Lovell Homes’ Altrincham office as an assistant site manager in September 2008, before moving his way up to project manager in October 2015 and eventually contracts manager in September 2018.
In his new role as head of operations, Roach will oversee operations in the North West, helping to deliver the firm’s goals such as delivering 1,500 homes in Greater Manchester in the next five years.
Roach said: “It has always been a goal of mine to reach this milestone, and I have been tremendously lucky to have the support and guidance of the teams around me.
“For those currently starting out as trainees, hopefully this shows what is possible”, he continued.
“I’ve got a big job to do as head of operations, with my immediate priority being to meet the year-end forecast and the agenda set by Lovell for the next few years.
“There is so much potential in this region and I will be placing a sharp focus on quality and customer satisfaction.”
Paul Challinor, Lovell’s regional managing director for the North West, said: “John has shown great dedication to Lovell after starting nearly 15 years ago on our management training programme and has consistently proven his strengths and experience in collaboration with all departments to progress through the ranks…
“There are obvious benefits to the business by investing in developing your team over the longer term as they gain such a well-rounded understanding of the processes, systems, and culture”, Challinor continued.
“John has a great understanding of this region, the Lovell way, and what it takes to bring successful sites forward working with our key partners, so he was the clear choice to take on this role.”
Lovell is part of Morgan Sindall Group and has two North West offices in Altrincham and Liverpool. The company is active in the region with 1,800 homes in the pipeline.
In 2022, Lovell reported a 20% revenue increase from 2021, with an increase from £572m to £696m.
Earlier this month, Lovell, along with Together Housing Group and SP+, submitted plans for 471 homes in the fourth phase of the ongoing regeneration of Pendleton. The wider scheme aims to deliver 2,000 new and refurbished properties.
