Jigsaw looks to put Miles Platting pieces together
A trio of sites around the housing provider’s East Manchester headquarters off Oldham Road are earmarked for redevelopment into 154 affordable homes.
Jigsaw Homes North has applied to Manchester City Council for permission to build a mix of houses and apartments on three plots totalling 4.7 acres in Miles Platting.
The largest of the three sites by some distance is the land surrounding Baker House, where Jigsaw is based. Two smaller plots on the corner of Rosewell Avenue and Giltbrook Avenue, and on the corner of Oldham Road and Collyhurst Street, will also be built on.
The scheme would feature 124 apartments and 30 houses; 75% of the properties would be available for social rent with the balance to be offered up for rent-to-buy.
The proposal builds upon plans to redevelop the former Apollo pub site off Varley Street nearby into 32 homes, which were approved last year.
Eden Planning and DK Architects head up the project team, which also features Sutcliffe, Laayer.studio, TWC Consulting and Astute.
