A night to remember at Place Party Yorkshire 2024

Ah, Yorkshire! Known for its hearty welcomes, rolling dales and great tea bags, this beloved region played host to the latest Place shindig and it was a real doozy. The Place Party Yorkshire 2024, held at the Armouries in Leeds, was a sell-out show. With 300 Yorkshire folks in attendance, the atmosphere was bouncing and, dare I say, flowing with a bit of northern camaraderie.

The Botanicals Set the Tone

Kicking off the night, The Botanicals, a band as lively as their name suggests, got everyone’s spirits soaring. They were the perfect choice for a crowd ready to let their hair down. Mind you, there wasn’t much dancing, but that didn’t dampen the mood. The air was thick with laughter, chatter, and the clinking of beer glasses.

Fun Fair Frolics

The event took a playful turn with classic fun fair games. From hook-a-duck to the challenge of testing your strength with a hammer, there was something for everyone. ‘Shoot the hoop’ brought out the competitive side in many, and let’s just say, Yorkshire folk have a good eye! It was delightful to see everyone, from sponsors to clients, join in the fun.

The sponsors for the night, Mills & Reeve, Lanpro, and Enzygo, deserve a special shoutout. They truly helped in bringing this event to life. It was also brilliant to have our clients, Hope Architects and Alliance Investments, mingling and enjoying the night.

A Little Lancashire in Yorkshire

As a southerner-cum-Lancastrian, I must admit Yorkshire was incredibly welcoming. We had our share of fun too. Phil of Hope Architects bagged not one, but two planes at hook-a-duck, while I scored some rather giant sunglasses. Moments like these made the evening special.

There’s a friendly nudge to our Yorkshire friends to cross the Pennines come September. We Lancastrians know how to throw a party too, and we might just need a bigger venue to accommodate the crowd!

A Refreshing Change

Talking to the Leeds locals, it was clear that the lack of long speeches or awards was a welcome change. The consensus? A casual event like this was long overdue. It was refreshing to have an evening dedicated purely to fun, networking, and enjoyment without the formalities.

Wrapping Up

All in all, the Place Party Yorkshire 2024 was a night that many will remember fondly. It had everything: music, games, good company, and plenty of beer. It wasn’t your typical dance-till-you-drop party, but it had a charm all its own. Here’s to more such events that bring people together in the most enjoyable ways! Cheers to Yorkshire and here’s looking forward to the next big bash!
