Ian Simpson to create Lake District primary school

Manchester-based Ian Simpson Architects has been selected to design a new primary school and village centre in Grasmere, Ambleside.

The company was chosen ahead of runners-up Sutherland Hussey and Hanson Marston Mellor for the £1.5m contract.

As well as three classrooms the scheme will include a new village square, post office and doctor's surgery.
