Homes approved on empty Tameside mill site
The former Britannia Mill in Mossley town centre is due to be demolished to make way for 62 apartments, following Tameside Council’s approval of plans by landowner English Braids.
The scheme will be made up of a mix of 62 two- and three-bedroom apartments, 8,000 sq ft of retail space and 133 parking spaces.
Nexus advised on planning, while Broadway Malyan is the architect.
Tameside Council gave unanimous approval and said that the development would result in the beneficial re-use of previously developed land, to provide much needed housing in a location close to a wide variety of services and transport links in Mossley.
Peter Tooher, director at Nexus Planning, said: “We have worked closely with the local council and local representatives to develop this scheme and this has been reflected by the very positive outcome.”
