HCA to get green light for 250 Preston homes
Proposals by the Homes & Communities Agency for 250 homes on farmland are due to be discussed by Preston City Council’s planning committee on Friday, having been recommended for approval by planning officers.
The outline application by the HCA for a 31-acre site off D’Urton lane bounded by the M55 and M6 motorways includes up to 250 homes, 30% of which will be classed as affordable.
The site between Fulwood and Broughton has been allocated for residential development in Preston’s local plan, and will be developed under the area’s North West Preston masterplan. WYG is acting as planner for the project, with homes due to be delivered across four adjacent parcels of land. WSP is the travel planner.
Council planning officers have recommended the scheme for approval, subject to a Section 106 agreement. Conditions include a community infrastructure levy payment of £1.1m.
The planning committee has also recommended two reserved matters applications for approval – one from Wainhomes for 213 houses on a site north of Maxy House Farm on Sandy Lane; and another from Gladman Developments for 190 houses off Inglewhite Road.
Outline planning for Wainhomes’ scheme was granted in December 2016, with Emery acting as planner, while Gladman Developments’ project was approved in July 2014.
