Harrison Pitt Architects hires grad
The Lancaster-based practice has appointed Jenny Etheridge as architectural assistant.
Etheridge joined the architecture practice after graduating from Nottingham Trent University with a BArch honours degree in architecture.
As part of the year-long industrial placement, Etheridge will work alongside the practice's architects, assisting in creating architectural drawings and surveys, making planning applications for new buildings and carrying out general administration duties.
Richard Wooldridge, a director at Harrison Pitt Architects, said: "While the route to become a fully-fledged architect is a rigorous process taking a minimum of seven years, the two compulsory placement years provide invaluable real-world experience.
"We have taken on an assistant for the past seven years, helping to develop aspiring architects through exposure to live projects. Jenny has made great strides in the short time she has been with us and I'm sure she will continue to flourish into a fantastic architect."
After completing her placement year at Harrison Pitt Architects, Etheridge will study for a further two years and gain an additional two years' experience before taking a final exam to qualify as an architect.
