Green light for Ellesmere Port Co-Op
The 4,300 sq ft store will take over the former pub off Gleneagles Road in Great Sutton, following Cheshire West and Chester Council’s approval last week.
DB3 Architects designed the project, which will deliver Ellesmere Port’s third Co-Operative food store.
The shop will feature a 3,000 sq ft shopfloor and 1,300 sq ft warehouse.
Plans will see the demolition of The Sutton, the pub currently on site. The 5,200 sq ft building has been vacant since 2016.
A total of 35 parking spaces will be provided for visitors, including three disabled and two electric vehicle spaces. There will also be eight cycle and two motorcycle spots.
ADL Traffic & Highways Engineering is the scheme’s transport consultant. Ramm Sanderson is providing the ecological impact assessment.

Elsewhere in Ellesmere Port, housing association Torus has recently acquired 53 properties at Northstone’s 218-home development in the town, through a new joint venture with the developer.
