Expansion plans for Global Telecoms

Bury entrepreneur Mark Bedward is building a new 48,000 sq ft headquarters for his telecoms company in the town to accommodate its growing workforce.

Bosses at Global Telecoms and Technologies, which is currently situated in Barcroft Street, say they will have taken on 75 more members of staff by the time the company moves into its purpose-built office in the former Kodak Building in Hornby Street, complete with gym, sunbeds and lounge area.

The building will be owned by Bedward's Point Blue Investments and Developments, also the parent of Global Telecoms.

The firm, which specialises in providing tailor-made telephony and IT services to businesses, will grow from 130 staff to 205.

Global Telecoms is expecting to double its turnover to £14m by the end of the current financial year.
