Event to explore rise of ‘Silicon Basin’
Piccadilly Partnership and CityCo are holding an informal reception to discuss the future of the digital sector in Piccadilly, Manchester.
As Manchester welcomes entrepreneurs TechHub to Carver's Warehouse on Dale Street, the event will look at growth plans for Piccadilly as a digital district.
TechHub is an international network of physical technology spaces, backed up with an online network. The organisation has been drawn to Manchester as an inspiring, dynamic city with a strong pedigree in the fields of computer science and creative arts.

Mat Oakley, head of commercial research, Savills UK. Mat will briefly outline the opportunities identified for TMT (Technology, Mobile & Telecoms) sectors in Piccadilly, following a specially commissioned report.
Doug Ward, chief executive, TechHub Manchester and co-founder Tech Britain. Doug, a technology adviser to the government Cabinet Office, will introduce TechHub and talk through the ambition to foster a new generation of internationally-focused Internet start-ups in Piccadilly.
Suzanne Gallagher, asset manager, Town Centre Securities. Suzanne will share landowner TCS's plans for Piccadilly Basin as a digital hub; including proposals for the development of Brownsfield Mill on Great Ancoats Street.
