Etrop Grange changes hands
Etrop Grange Hotel, a grade 2-listed Georgian mansion near Manchester Airport, has been acquired by Squire Hotels for a sum close to the guide price of £4.95m.
Squire Hotels, which was launched earlier this year by Manchester-based lawyer Chris Eddlestone, plans to fully refurbish the 64-bedroom hotel.
The hotel was sold on behalf of Highcross Strategic Advisors by the Manchester office of Colliers International.
Etrop Grange dates back to 1780. Originally known as Moss House after being built as a home by school teacher William Moss, the premises were renamed Etrop Grange in 1984 after the local area called Etrop Green. The property became a restaurant in 1985 and was later converted to a hotel.
