Eric Wright completes school revamp
Eric Wright Construction has completed the £8.2m multi-phase refurbishment of Unity Academy in Blackpool.
Located on Warbreck Hill Road, the Academy now includes upgraded classrooms, enhanced dining and kitchen facilities and bespoke resource areas.
The project has also extended the Academy's offering with the addition of a dance studio, gym and an extension to the drama hall.
Eric Wright started on site in June 2012. The architect is IBI Nightingale, the engineer is Cundall and building services were provided by JRB Environmental.
John Wilson, managing director of EWC, said: "Construction projects that involve working in a live school environment are always a challenge, so we are really pleased that the phased demolition and refurbishment project has all worked out as planned.
"Adding to the Academy's growing reputation, we are confident that the improved and upgraded facilities have created a 21st century learning environment that can be enjoyed by pupils and teachers for years to come."
